Don Oren on DART: You tell us what you want, we’ll deliver.

When an applicant calls a carrier about a job, there’s a tendency in the trucking industry for a recruiter to list off all the things a carrier can give the applicant. At Dart, we start by asking questions.
“We say, ‘what are you looking for?” Dart Transit Company Owner Don Oren said. “And then we try to get a two-way conversation so that we can get a good feel about this individual. Are they looking for more home time? Are they looking for more miles? What do they want from us that they're not getting where they are now?”
Under Oren’s leadership, Dart grew from a small regional company to a national carrier serving 48 states. Part of the reason we have been so successful is because we listen to drivers before they even join Dart.
“We ask questions, and it turns into a better conversation — something that's more than just rate per mile,” Oren said. “It becomes a much more friendly, a much more meaningful conversation.
When Dart is bringing on drivers, we’re looking for more than experience or work ethic, we want to make sure we’re a good match. Luckily, Dart offers drivers a lot of flexibility with a variety of jobs. We work hard to meet the needs of our drivers once they find the freight/schedule that works for them.
“We can usually find a way to meet the needs of any particular driver providing they're willing to work,” Oren said.
For the first six months, our talented fleet managers give contractors and drivers extra support so we can build trust and find a routine that works for everyone. From offering the choice between two colors on a truck to finding the stops that are most convenient for their schedules, they know we’ll work with them.
“You can start a new life,” Oren said. “The opportunities are there for anyone who wants it. Anybody who is willing and able. And we're here to support that ambition.”
There’s never been a better time to join Dart. We’re offering drivers higher pay and more home time than ever before!
“I've never seen such a good time to enter this business,” Oren said. “It's incredible. The opportunities are there, the pay is going up. Everything is really good right now. My advice is to take advantage now.”
